Saatchi Gallery sold 2 of my paintings in 3 days

This painting sold for $750 on Saatchi over the weekend.

This was closely followed by ‘The Lads’ which sold on Monday.

It was selected for a collection  Affordable Original Art for $500 and Under by Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator of Saatchi Online and Director of the Saatchi Gallery.

I’m pleased to say that my painting ‘Life’s a Beach Two’ was selected by Saatchi online for a collection on their homepage called ‘Last Days of Summer.’ Whilst I am delighted and really should upload some more artworks to their website, I’m determined to spend my last days of summer painting sunflowers in France, rather than posting paintings on the internet! We would like to announce that Jacqueline Hammond’s Smartdeco range will be exhibited at Spring Fair International 2013, Europe’s leading home and gifts trade fair at the Birmingham NEC, 3-7th February 2013.

We’re really excited it about it and wanted to take this opportunity to invite our blog readers, facebook friends and twitterers along to our stand where we can introduce the Smartdeco range to you in person. There will be a selection of designer interior and lifestyle accessories from Smartdeco all featuring original designs from Jacqueline’s contemporary portfolio of work, with selected pieces available as imagery for licence.

Stars On Canvas auction ends and this painting sold for £325 – WOO HOO!!!

That’s £426 raised for the Willow Foundation. Brilliant!

Stars on Canvas is a colourful and imaginative art project created by hundreds of well-known names from the worlds of art, illustration, sport, music and entertainment. Collectively, the canvases can be seen as an exploration of modern culture – how we come to revere a diverse range of stars for their particular talents, skills and personalities, and sometimes simply for their fame.

This is your opportunity to own an original piece of artwork from a collection of over 300 artworks by stars from the worlds of stage, screen, art, music and sport, including canvases by Mo Farah, Wayne Rooney, John Hurt, Mike Leigh, Albert Irvin, Rankin and many, many more.

National charity, the Willow Foundation organises and funds special days for seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds. Founded by former Scotland and Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson and his wife Megs in memory of their daughter Anna, it aims to offer quality of life and time to those most in need. Seriously ill is defined as any condition that is life-threatening. The aim of every special day is to provide time out from treatment allowing young adults to spend time with their family creating precious memories for the future

The painting I've created depicts a day 'Beside the Seaside' here in Brighton. I have used several pebbles 'stolen' from the beach as heads for the people (and dogs) taking a stroll along the promenade. I look for natural markings, chips and contours on the pebbles that can be used to resemble facial, hair and head gear type features. A hole in the pebble becomes a mouth, a chipped area separates the face from the hair and so on. Sometimes I paint on a face, sometimes I need do no more than a dot for an eye.
