Kemptown Light Painting Sold – Last in the bestselling Brighton Sunsets series by Jacqueline Hammond

SOLD on Saatchi Art – this piece ‘Kemptown Light’ (70x70cm acrylics on canvas)

This painting by Brighton based artist Jacqueline Hammond has now been purchased by a collector from France on the Saatchi Online website.

The painting is a favourite of many and is actually the last in the ‘Brighton Tidal Sunsets’ series of paintings to be snapped up. All the original artworks in this series have now sold. The buildings of Kemptown and the Victorian arches that stretch the length of the seafront are detailed in the painting. Each piece in the collection (untypically) depicts the view looking east of Brighton Palace Pier towards the Marina, which isn’t often painted by Brighton’s artists.

Pynch ‘Howling at a Concrete Moon’ album OUT NOW!

NEW ALBUM from Pynch released – get your copy, gig ticket and T shirt bundle here

Watch Pynch-band-video latest tune called ‘2009’

Pynch have become my (favourite) band. I found ‘Somebody Else‘ during lockdown somehow. Don’t know quite how but that song instantly instantly hit home.

I’ve been following their progress and doing my best to promote them ever since. I think they’re an indie band worth signing.

Now they’ve released their album I feel proud and wish them all the best as they rise and reach more music lovers, knowing all the words and making videos of them I’d say I’m convinced. I love them and I think everyone will soon catch on 😍

A bit like when I decided Bristol band The Groove Farm were ‘my band’ in the late eighties Indie music scene. But worse!! 😆

Think this is what I watched / heard first-

A young lad singing and playing his heart out is what I heard/saw on YouTube.

This is the song – Somebody Else

Instantly I got hooked on the music and the lyrics stick quick, so they must be good. Glad i made recordings of the first time I saw them. Love the interaction between them as a band; they are good mates, you can tell. It was only later I found out the bass guitarist is frontman, Spencer Enock’s brother Scott. With cheeky chappie James on the keyboards and  I’ll never forget the energy, yet ease with which they performed that day at the ‘Technicolour Festival” in Brighton.

Pynch hit the spot in that peculiar patch of time, in that there pandemic in the 20’s, I can hear myself say, if I get to grow old”

Level headed and humble in person, Spencer is a true musician and writer, the lyrics to me are happily memory laden or give grounded, observational insight on life and show genuine emotional intelligence.

Virtual Futures new book out now

Sold. 👏 Well done VF Crew.

Get your copy here http://www.newconpress.co.uk/info/book.asp?id=195&referer=Catalogue

Very pleased I took the plunge that evening and went to into town. I caught some of the very writers in this very book.

lol 😂

Curious to check out the ‘modern day’ Virtual Futures and to meet ‘the others.’ Albeit a couple (cough) decades late to the conference.

A few salons later I’d met authors that were virtually rock stars to me – Pat Cadigan OMG did Sadie gush on about Pat, now I get a birthday message from the top broad of cyberpunk. (She invented the iPhone and her secret love child is Elon Musk though he is in denial, due copyright infringement. Jokes. Even Mr Cyberia himself – the Douglas Rushkoff with whom I have a love/hate thing (he gets the carte Blanche) …anyway. Like 🤩 wow!

So… on the (9th ee was 7thTop?) floor of the Muirhead Tower end of term 1994 In a stuffy seminar room, I’m afraid Sadie Plant wasn’t really selling it. The virtualfutures conference in Coventry, not compared to Glastonbury, come on! It’s quite a clash. Or is it? Still part of the programme.

So I of course I tripped off to the festival (all part of my research nod nod #diyculture ) 😂

So that neon lit night in SoHo was oh so cyberculture for shy old me.

But blimey!

So glad I went – and must remember to ‘get back to work’.

Who ever says they’re an

Interdisciplinary artist, I couldn’t do it, I don’t know what I am, that’s a bit of mouthful, specially at soho bar prices but as an introduction it made me laugh to quiz ‘the others’ they just said artist. I knit plastic for a living it’s not really something to be proud of but it feeds the kids. I was so nervous but weirdly on form. Though I thought you might not believe me 😂 and I’d have to actually show my certificate.

Hell the Covid brain fog has scrambled my hard rice. #nearfuturefictionsalon #Virtualfutures

PS. Can we carry on yet?

I miss #VF, I’d only just got back from the past.

Can we have another salon soon 🔜 please, once the genome project is complete perhaps.

Apologies. Writing random posts on Facebook is about as much time I make for creative writing. Something’s gotta shift.

I’m highly likely to scribble on my signed edition (by every author or just the Amazon not??) Bet mine gets more on EBay in 20 years – tee hee! Well done guys. Keep going.

I look forward to receiving my copy.

✌️Jaxx

I apologise for drafting a blog post on your post comments Tom Wardy Ward! It’s the way I operate. I’ll copy and paste to promo the book. To my my neurozlilions of followers yeah man how was/is NYC?

You won’t remember me in my mask or without. 2019 I couldn’t decide between power ranger, darth Vader and storm trooper but it’s come in handy, weird huh.

I swear the font on my device has just changed today – well recently . It’s even rounder!!!! We discussed this. I can really notice it as I’ve not been on for a while. More Tweaking, getting more like comic sans everyday 😱
