Pynch have become my (favourite) band. I found ‘Somebody Else‘ during lockdown somehow. Don’t know quite how but that song instantly instantly hit home.

I’ve been following their progress and doing my best to promote them ever since. I think they’re an indie band worth signing.

Now they’ve released their album I feel proud and wish them all the best as they rise and reach more music lovers, knowing all the words and making videos of them I’d say I’m convinced. I love them and I think everyone will soon catch on 😍

A bit like when I decided Bristol band The Groove Farm were ‘my band’ in the late eighties Indie music scene. But worse!! 😆

Think this is what I watched / heard first-

A young lad singing and playing his heart out is what I heard/saw on YouTube.

This is the song – Somebody Else

Instantly I got hooked on the music and the lyrics stick quick, so they must be good. Glad i made recordings of the first time I saw them. Love the interaction between them as a band; they are good mates, you can tell. It was only later I found out the bass guitarist is frontman, Spencer Enock’s brother Scott. With cheeky chappie James on the keyboards and  I’ll never forget the energy, yet ease with which they performed that day at the ‘Technicolour Festival” in Brighton.

Pynch hit the spot in that peculiar patch of time, in that there pandemic in the 20’s, I can hear myself say, if I get to grow old”

Level headed and humble in person, Spencer is a true musician and writer, the lyrics to me are happily memory laden or give grounded, observational insight on life and show genuine emotional intelligence.

About artbyjaxx

Contemporary British artist, Jacqueline Hammond, is renowned for producing strong, punchy images that are rich in texture and colour. A prolific painter and multidisciplinary artist, she exhibits widely and is commissioned by individual clients, collectors and high profile brands. Jacqueline’s inspiration comes from direct observation: subject matter is plucked from the world encountered every day. Some ideas evolve, others are reactionary. Thought-provoking themes explore today’s society, the media and cultural theory. Whether inspired by the street or the sea, Jacqueline’s work has an edge: her paintings are consistently striking. Her natural disposition is to let the paint dictate the creative process, trusting the medium and her mind’s eye to translate the vision.
