Painting ‘Sit and Throw’ by Jacqueline Hammond featured on Saatchi Online’s Homepage
This week, Saatchi curator Rebecca Wilson has chosen my work to be featured in ‘The Life Aquatic’ a collection of works inspired by water
Sit and Throw –Â Jacqueline Hammond (100 x 100cm, acrylics on canvas)

This piece is part of The Groyne Series, studies of youth hanging out on the seafront. Have a look at the other works in the series on my website – www.jacquelinehammond.co.uk
The Groyne Series came about from observing the shapes of teenagers and kids playing and jumping into the sea from the sea groynes along the shoreline of the beach in Brighton. These paintings seem to evoke memories of the height of summer for many people and the location could be anywhere in the world.

This was closely followed by ‘The Lads’Â which sold on Monday.
It was selected for a collection  Affordable Original Art for $500 and Under by Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator of Saatchi Online and Director of the Saatchi Gallery.

The piece also featured on the Saatchi Online Facebook page:
Have you missed out on all the affordable art fairs lately? You’re in luck – we’ve got a collection of great, new originals that won’t break the bank.
This painting, entitled “The Lads” ($435), is by UK artist Jacqueline Hammond:Â http://goo.gl/Uk0Z4r
